In 2008, I was the junior designer at Mckenna, Long, & Aldridge, LLP (now Dentons), a law firm in Washington, D.C. During the height of the 2008 presidential primaries, the firm wanted to host an election primary party. As a part of the giveaways, the firm wanted specially-designed buttons that partygoers could choose from.

Early designs of Rudy Giuliani and John Edwards were nixed, as candidates were dropping out of race mere days before we had to send these to the printer. Another challenge was accurately drawing John McCain’s hairline.
